BOAT SHOWSGasparilla Marina had a booth at the following boat shows this season.
NAUTICAL FLEA MARKET The Pirates & Parrots in Paradise - NAUTICAL FLEA MARKET- was held in October at the Fishery Restaurant on the Waterfront. In addition to the Gasparilla Marina booth, our marina pirates and wenches boarded their ship at our fuel dock and began their voyage over to the Fishery. The unsuspecting residents viewing all the items at the flea market were startled by the blasts of the cannon as the pirate ship made land for the invasion. Pictures Available, Click Here.

FISHINGFind out what’s being caught in and around Charlotte Harbor and Gasparilla Sound, Boca Grande Pass, and the Gulf of Mexico. May is one of the months that test an angler's decision making skills.... Inshore, nearshore or offshore? Where do I want to fish? Inshore: Snook (catch and release), reds and trout are plentiful throughout the area. Bull and Turtle Bay are productive as well as structures and pilings. Shrimp is still the bait of choice although whitebait is now available. The Pine Island area has been most productive for netting bait. Tarpon have been taken in the Boca Grand Pass and Charlotte Harbor. Small schools have been reported surfacing at night in the pass feeding on crab. Nearshore: Cobia and tripletail are found in in the passes and channels. An occasional tarpon may also liven your fishing experience. This is an excellent time of year for fishing as the water warms and the weather begins to cooperate. Offshore: Recent reports indicate kingfish and grouper are being caught in 40 - 60 feet of water. Sailfish and large dolphin are showing offshore. One local angler reported passing sailfish and dolphin while on the way out to fish for red snapper. On the way back he found the dolphin again and boated three. I am convinced an untapped offshore fishery consisting of billfish, tuna, dolphin and cobia is within range of boats from Gasparilla Marina. Oceanographic factors and fish migration patterns bring these spectacular species closer during the summer months when other fisheries on Florida's east coast are dormant. Expect to see pictures of sail, marlin and tuna in addition to the tarpon and snook photos regularly featured in our gallery of recently caught fish. The Marina is a supplier of Roffer's Ocean Fishing Forecasting Service (Roffs) providing an analysis of conditions and factors conducive to successful offshore fishing. In the near future we will utilize this service on our boat to target and explore the fishery. Here fishy, fishy! ~~~~ }><(((((((((((*>
